Winton Gibbons

Winton Gibbons is a consultant focused on market assessment, business development, strategy, and new product innovation. His client emphasis is in various life science fields, including diagnostics, life science research tools, medical devices, biotechnology, and pharmaceuticals.

His background is unique, since it merges experience as a top-tier consultant with McKinsey, as a partner with investment bank William Blair, and as an executive in industry as a VP with Roche Diagnostics, and SVP roles with various mid-sized diagnostic and life science firms.

Most recently, Winton completed four projects for a major diversified life science firm. These included assessment of adjacent service and product markets, support for divisional strategic planning, a 5-year analysis with synthesis of key initiatives, and detailed assessment of a potential corporate venture investment. Other recent engagements include an assessment of the physician office laboratory market for a top 3 medical device firm, and for a top 5 biopharma firm, development of a companion diagnostics assessment and deployment process. Winton has also acted as a subject matter expert for A large CDMO.

For early- and mid-stage in-vitro diagnostic and life science firms, Winton has conducted numerous engagements and executive counseling.

Since 2010, he has been on the Investor Advisory Board for the Innovation and New Ventures Office of Northwestern University, and since 2000, a member of the organizing committee for the AACC annual Financial Analyst Briefing.
